Thomas Douglas CRAWFORD and his wife Eleanor Fridiswid Sharman-Crawford (married 11 June 1863) were second cousins. (Thomas's father, James of Belfast and Eleanor's mother, Mabel Fridiswid née Crawford, were first cousins, their fathers being the brothers Arthur and John respectively).

She bore him five children, three sons and two daughters, one of their grandchildren , Basil, married and settled in Vancouver.
