David was son of Robert GORDON and Alice WHYTE née ARBUCKLE whose mother Anne was a CRAWFORD, but it is not believed of the same Crawford line

He married Mary, youngest daughter of James CRAWFORD and Mabel JOHNSTON, on 11 September 1789 and they had three children, Robert, James and Jane Maria.

David's wife, Mary, was granddaughter to John Crawford. His mother, Alice, was also granddaughter to a John Crawford, but it is not believed that this was the same John Crawford.
