James Henry CRAWFORD, (known as Henry) son of George Ferguson CRAWFORD and Catherine WHATMOUGH, was shirt cutter in his Father's business at Windsor near Melbourne and later of Beecroft near Sydney N.S.W. He was born at Yackdandah, Victoria.

He was married on 23rd November 1892 at Prahran, Victoria to Annie Henzell Stoddart(born circa 1865), daughter of Thomas Stoddart of Prahran)and they had two sons and a daughter
