Eleanor Fridiswid was born at Crawfordsburn and baptised at Bangor, Co Down.

Eleanor Fridiswid SHARMAN-CRAWFORD and her husband Thomas Douglas CRAWFORD whom she married, at the age of 36 on 11 June 1863 at Bangor, were second cousins. (Thomas's father, James of Belfast and Eleanor's mother, Mabel Fridiswid née CRAWFORD, were first cousins, their fathers being the brothers Arthur and John respectively).

She bore him five children, three sons and two daughters, one of their grandchildren, Basil, married and settled in Vancouver.

She died at 32 Wellington Park, Belfast and is buried in the Belfast Cemetery
